To further enhance our university’s internationalisation, on 4 June, Vice-Chancellor Li Zhenghui led a delegation to Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages to study their experience in Sino-foreign cooperative education. He was accompanied by relevant officials from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the Planning and Finance Office, and the Nelson Marlborough School of Intelligent Engineering. Chen Wentao, Vice-Chancellor of Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages, and others attended the symposium.

During the symposium, Li Zhenghui outlined our university’s strengths in engineering, as well as our efforts in industry-education integration and international cooperation, expressing a desire to learn from the successful practices of sister institutions in areas such as institutional mechanisms, talent development and quality assurance.

Chen Wentao focused on sharing experiences regarding integrated training programmes such as ‘Foreign Languages + Specialisation’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence + Specialisation’, interdisciplinary mechanisms and international joint training programmes, as well as innovative measures such as the development of emerging specialisations, the establishment of micro-specialisations and dynamic adjustments.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on core issues concerning Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions, including institutional mechanisms, financial systems, teaching operations, student recruitment and international student exchanges, and exchanged specific approaches to addressing key challenges. Following the meeting, the delegation toured relevant teaching facilities, providing valuable insights for the high-quality development of our university’s Nelson Marlborough School of Intelligent Engineering.

This study visit has further broadened the horizons for international exchange and cooperation at NMIT Intelligent Engineering of Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power. Moving forward, our university will remain committed to serving national strategic needs, continue to deepen inter-institutional collaboration, and accelerate the process of internationalisation in education, thereby making new and greater contributions to the cultivation of internationally-oriented, application-oriented talent.
